I've read on the internet that I should not be discussing salary with employers until the offer. But now, almost every job application whether direct to the company itself or through a job agency, it's required, even before the first interview!!!!! Needless to say, I feel uneasy (nah, I'm actually freaking out right now) about this.
The salary for some vacancies I can look up on job sites but there are more than a few that have little info that I can find.
So the questions asked here are:
1. Why is asking the applicant to state a desired salary upon application or at the first interview becoming more common place?
2.What has this got to do with selecting the right candidate?
3.To what extent does this affect the candidate's chances of getting the job?
4. What should a candidate say/write when met with this enquiry?
Thanks and blessing to you all.
